With a wide variety of silica and silica zircon materials, MTC Certech are ideally placed to provide high performance casting solutions across many industries and sectors.
Silica materials and silica zircon have been successfully used in many different casting applications. With knowledge and experience of working with these materials, we are able to offer high performance silica and silica zircon compositions that are stable at high temperatures and provide precision for the creation of many different products; from golf clubs to valve components.
At MTC Certech we utilise four main grades of silica materials, these grades either utilise silica or silica zircon compositions that can be matched to DS, SX and Equiax casting processes.
Silica materials grades offer varying particle sizes and distribution. Grades inlcude:
- P33 – Intermediate particle size that offers high temperature stability. Suited to DS and SX applications where blind passages are evident and core leachability could be an issue.
- P77 – Fine particle size making it ideal for casting applications with thin cross sections.
- K120 –Silica zircon composition for applications where silica materials are not sufficient, such as equiax casting. Intermediate particle size and distribution offers high temperature stability.
- K278 – Fine particle size and distribution offers good thermal stability and can be used in applications with small cross sections. A silica zircon composition.
