Morgan Technical Ceramics (MTC) Certech has pioneered a new manufacturing technique which strengthens its ceramic cores used in the investment casting process by 20-30%. The ceramic cores, which are used to cast high performance aerospace and industrial turbine blades, can now be manufactured with a tougher coating, enabling customers to improve yields and achieve associated cost savings.

Morgan Technical Ceramics (MTC) is offering ceramic cores made with its proprietary P-52 material, from its Certech manufacturing sites in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Ceramic cores produced with P-52 material exhibit greater dimensional accuracy while maintaining tight tolerances without distortion. They remain stable and rigid at high temperatures, making them ideal for use in investment casting of aerospace engine components.

Morgan Technical Ceramics, Certech, has pioneered a new flow modelling technique for the design of ceramic cores used in the manufacturing process of high performance parts for the aerospace, automotive and medical markets. The use of the software is a major breakthrough for the investment casting process and will significantly optimise injection moulding of ceramic cores and enable the design of parts with more complex geometries.
